Here is a preview of our 8th Ed list build rules for 40K Narrative...
1. We will be using Power Levels not Points
2. Single faction
3. No ‘plays as’ or fortifications
Open Narrative
- 1 Battalion Detachment (Battle-Forged Amy) with a Power Level greater than 100. Not all unit will be on the table at the same time. Example force deployment are Power levels of 50, 75, 100 or 125.

Invitational Narrative
- 1 Brigade Detachment (Battle-Forged Amy) with a Power Level greater than 250. Not all unit will be on the table at the same time and will be split between 2-3 players. Example force deployment are Power levels of 75, 100 or 150 being played by different players on multiple tables.

The Wargames Con 40K Narrative includes several events which are all included in your 40K Narrative ticket. Today I am going to talk about 40K Narrative Freeplay on Sunday's (10AM-4PM). Sunday's 40K Narrative Freeplay AKA Dan's Crazy Game and open tables for all players. Dan's Crazy Game is a single 6 hour game many players on very big game boards. If you have speical models like a Titan, Thunderhawlk, Gargant or maybe 25 Imperial Navy fliers that you want to play, Dan's Crazy Game is a great time to create a game that focuses on them.
Most players will bring...
- 1 Battalion Detachment (Battle-Forged Amy) with a Power Level ~100-125
- With all the same faction keywords
- WYSIWYG
- No 'plays-as'
If you have one of these let's talk...
- fortifications
- Lord of War
- Special groups of units like an Air Wing
- Additional Faction detachment
This game is cooperative game where we will work together to fit in everyone's cool. For example, players who bring their Battalion Detachment won't be facing a Warlord Titan solo with no cover. The goal will be heroic action as with all Narrative Guys games. The format for this game follow the Sunday big game format of past Wargames Con events. -Dan
